Epson DX4 Printhead Description

The Epson DX4 is a fourth-generation micro-piezo printhead widely used in Roland, Mutoh, and Mimaki printers for eco-solvent, mild solvent, UV, and aqueous applications. Known for its stability and precision, it ensures accurate ink placement, smooth gradients, and consistent color output.

Standard DX4 (6000005213 – Grey Type)

  • Original Epson DX4 printhead delivered in Roland sealed package
  • Includes original head ID for proper printer recognition and firmware compatibility
  • Native resolution: 360 dpi
  • 2 nozzle lines / 2 independent ink channels
  • 180 nozzles per line
  • Firing frequency: 8 kHz
  • Min. droplet size: 3.5 pl
  • Supports 1-color (dual channel) or 2-color configuration
  • Compatible with a wide range of Roland, Mutoh, and Mimaki printers

Important Compatibility Notes

  • VersaUV printers (firmware 1.4 or higher) require DX4 Gold (6000005180)
  • Standard DX4 (6000005213) can only be used on VersaUV with lower firmware versions
  • All printheads in the same printer must be identical (no mixing grey & gold versions)
  • DX4 Gold can replace standard DX4 on Roland printers when using the original head ID

Note: When installing a new Epson DX4 print head, replace the head cables to ensure optimal performance and protect the printhead.
