Konica Minolta has expanded its KM1800i industrial printhead lineup with the launch of the industrial printhead KM1800iSHK-DC, a model capable of ejecting two different inks from a single unit. The new printhead, designed for high-resolution and high-speed output, will make its debut at PACK EXPO Las Vegas on September 29, 2025, followed by a presentation at PRINTING United Expo in Orlando on October 22, 2025.
Compact 24 mm Thickness with Dual-Color Capability
Traditionally, printers used in signage, graphics, and packaging rely on four CMYK heads, each dedicated to a single color. Earlier KM1800i models were limited to single-color use. The industrial printhead KM1800iSHK-DC introduces a two-color jetting architecture within a slim 24 mm body, enabling fewer heads to be installed on a press. This design helps streamline the installation process and minimizes the footprint required in production setups.
Long-Distance Jetting for Complex Surfaces
The new printhead delivers stable ink ejection even when the nozzle is positioned up to 10 mm from the media. This feature enables the achievement of accurate results on curved, irregular, or uneven substrates, as well as on objects with varying surface levels. By maintaining sufficient clearance between the head and the target surface, both the equipment and materials are less prone to damage, resulting in reduced downtime and increased operational efficiency.
Easier Alignment and Reduced Setup Time
To meet the demanding precision standards of industries such as billboard printing and large-format graphics, the industrial printhead KM1800iSHK-DC incorporates a refined mounting mechanism that allows quick and accurate positioning.
