Use Certified Ink
Use ink with a good reputation that has been used by others, use ink from a big manufacturer, and use ink with strong versatility. In the current industry situation, most inks are not very different.
Placement of the machine
Temperature: Keep it around 20-25℃. If it exceeds 30 °C, the ink will easily aggregate like jelly, which will easily cause printhead clogging. The evaporation and drying of the ink at the nozzle will be accelerated!
Humidity: Try to increase the humidity a little bit; the humidity should be above 40! The print head will dry up easily in an overly dry environment.
Light: Humidity is one reason for clogging. The second reason is light. It is basic common sense that UV ink cures when exposed to light. The nozzle is exposed to strong light outside, and the ink tube is also exposed to strong light outside, which can cause the ink to dry and clog. Therefore, the machine should not be placed near the door or windows where direct sunlight can reach. It is best not to have sunlight enter the printing studio room or printing equipment. It is best to rely on natural light in the room, which is not easy to cause clogging.
Wind: Many people do not install air conditioners in the workshop in the summer but install large fans on the windows to extract air vigorously. The air flow is too fast, causing the nozzle to dry quickly. Because of the strong wind, the ink solvent evaporates quickly and is easy to dry and clog!
The placement environment is very dusty: the dust will enter the ink, adhere to the nozzle, enter the ink bottle, and clog the nozzle!
The temperature in winter is too low, which increases the viscosity of the ink and reduces its fluidity, so it cannot be printed or the ink is cut off!
Negative pressure system: If the negative pressure device is not installed, the ink level is too low when using the positive pressure ink damper. The ink level must be at least 20 cm above the nozzle! If the negative pressure ink damper is used, the ink level must be about 20 cm below the nozzle! If the negative pressure system is installed, the negative pressure is too large, which may cause insufficient ink supply, ink threading, and ink breakage! If the negative pressure is too small, ink dripping, ink accumulation, and ink breakage are likely to occur!
The Printhead Protection When It is Stopped
If there is an ink capping, place the printhead on it and keep it airtight. The pipe below is airtight; that is, the nozzle part does not enter the air or light! If there is no ink capping, you can put cleaning liquid or alcohol on the non-woven fabric and place the printhead on it to moisturize it. Check it every other day to prevent it from drying out.
Check the Printhead Status Every Day
If you find that the printhead is clogged, clean it immediately and quickly. Do not insist on printing under similar conditions. When cleaning the printhead, do not draw ink vigorously. The bottom of the printhead is very delicate. Drawing ink vigorously will cause great damage to the print head and easily cause ink to flow through the print head! Many print heads are not broken; more than half of them are broken by drawing ink!
The correct method of extracting ink can ensure that the life of the printhead is extended several times! A simple example of manual ink extraction is that after the ink capping is sealed with the nozzle, there needs to be some air in the syringe. Pull it gently and slowly until you see ink drops slowly entering the syringe—one drop, two drops, three drops—that's enough. You can stop pulling the syringe, stand still for one minute, remove the ink capping after relaxing naturally, wipe the nozzle, and then let the machine flash for half a minute, and you can print! ! !
Many people encounter blockages, and they extract ink out one tube at a time, which makes the print head worse and worse, and the print head is scrapped!
It is not that you can clean the print head only if you pull more with more force. Pulling more with more force will only cause more ink breakage, more blockage, or even scrap the print head! ! !
To sum up, there are several key points about printhead protection: ink, temperature, humidity, wind, light, correct ink extraction, and correct print head sealing! As long as these key points are met, the print head life will be more than one year! If not, it is very normal for it to break down in a few days!
Special Cases about Printhead Protection
Special case 1: Flushing the print head vigorously will cause great damage to the print head. Flushing the printhead should be done by professionals. Be careful when exploring it yourself! Try to be gentle, fast, and short in time—fast in milliseconds!
Special case 2: Be careful when operating the printhead. Check the height of the printhead every time you print. Automatic detection and automatic height measurement are useless. The most useful thing for printhead protection is to check it before starting. If you don't check it, the printhead will hit the printed object. The speed of scrapping the printhead is also relatively fast.
Special case 3: If you drop ink onto the printhead cable and there are more drops, it can flow into the circuit, which will cause the printhead to burn directly as long as the power is on. If you find there is ink on the cable before the power is turned on, blow it dry, wipe it dry, and change the cable.
